The Gospel According to Scooby-Doo - Halloween Sermon 2020
“Scooby Dooby Doo! Where are you? We need some help from you now.” That song summoned
children along with the detective dog and his human companions to 25 episodes of “Scooby-Doo
Where Are You?” Unlike other theme songs which tell us something about the characters we’re
about to see, this song tells us nothing. It doesn’t even tell us that Scooby-Doo is a dog. Instead it
sets us down in the middle of a problem that needs to be solved – “We need some help from you
now.” And who is this “we”? Is it just the teenage detectives? Or do we also have a problem that
