The Blue Boat Coffeehouse
A great night out for the community, for great local causes, by great local artists!
Since 2016, First Parish's Blue Boat Coffeehouse has been highlighting the incredible talent of local South Shore adults and youth. It provides a fun, family-friendly, safe and sober Saturday evening out for the whole community, while raising funds and awareness for local non-profit organizations. The shows are free and open to the public.
Enjoy the "best acoustics in Scituate" in our sanctuary, or duck out to the Sloop Room to catch up with neighbors, have some coffee and a brownie, or see what the kids have created at the tables.
This year we are back with a full schedule of events! This season we will present shows in two exciting formats: Traditional Coffeehouse with featured artists and local favorites, and Blue Boat Presents with bands performing in concert.

Sarah Blacker & The Light
in concert
Named ‘Performer of the Year’ in the 2024 New England Music Awards, Sarah Blacker captures hearts and minds each time she sings. opening act: Birch Swart
Birch Swart opens the show. He's a longtime Blue Boat favorite — a South Shore based guitarist and vocalist whose music includes notes of folk, blues, reggae and rock.

Proceeds and food donations benefit the Scituate Food Pantry.

BLUE BOAT PRESENTS:

Bikini Whale
in concert
Join us for a Pride Month celebration with Bikini Whale — Boston’s B-52s tribute band! Just like their inspiration, Bikini Whale strives to bring the interstellar party vibe to every show they perform. Their dedication to capturing the essence of the original band has made them a fan favorite for over 13 years.

Proceeds benefit Summer of Sass.
Coffeehouse line-ups are managed by a First Parish team of volunteers in coordination with Ken Swart, a noted Scituate-based performing artist. Although the coffeehouse format is not strictly open-mic, the team encourages performers of any age and genre to contact us for potential inclusion in the shows.
This year we will support the Appleton Field Community Garden on Oct 4; Scituate Food Pantry on Nov 22, South Shore Peer Recovery on March 14, and Summer of Sass on June 20.
Organizations and causes we have supported in the past include South Shore Peer Recovery; Scituate Food Pantry; the South Shore Resource and Advocacy Center (as part of the Concert Across America); Housing Solutions for Southeastern Mass; Scituate Friends of Music; Scituate STEAM; Scituate participants in the Appalachian Service Project.
