A Beacon of Liberal Faith
"We aspire to be a beacon of liberal faith, strong community, transformative service, rooted in love."
We encourage curiosity. We believe there are multiple sources of truth.
As a beacon of liberal faith, we commit to participate side-by-side across generations in worship, religious education, social activities, environmental protection, and social justice work.
We value, trust, and inspire each other to bring their truest self.

About Unitarian Universalism
Sermons
Music is a Ministry!
Unitarian Universalism offers diverse and meaningful ways of connecting with the sacred. By welcoming the wisdom found in many scriptures, we are embodying a vision “beyond belief,” building an action-oriented community that bridges races, religions, and creeds. All visitors are welcome in our congregations and you need not renounce your current beliefs to take part.
The Reverend Erin Splaine, our 2-year Interim Minister, provides pastoral care, and inspires us with Sunday sermons that challenge us to live in love and live our values, while guiding the congregation in our independent ministerial search process.
Ours is a church for music lovers! Elements that comprise our service are sewn together with the musical thread of diverse choir pieces, hymns, and Beth's skilled hands at the piano and organ. Adults and kids often share their talents, and special guests perform at our concert series.
Services
Faith Formation for Kids
Weddings & Memorials
Regular services for adults and children are Sunday morning, but they can often be anything but "regular!" Needs for ritual and reflection are balanced with the need for responsiveness. Our services incorporate UU traditions as well as explore different means of spiritual expression.
Our Religious Education program (pre-K— Grade 12) strives to bring the love and grace of Unitarian Universalism to families' lives. It provides curriculum, community, covenant, and a call to service. Ours is a cooperative program that draws together the entire congregation to build community.
Our services are intentionally diverse in theology and tradition. All are welcome to celebrate here.
Our Ministries of Liberal Faith
Faith is a journey. For adults as well as children, beliefs and values can change, and our understandings of the world and of truth can deepen and evolve.
- The Religious Services committee and the Committee on Ministry ensure that regular Sunday services explore new paths towards ethical, social, and spiritual growth.
- The Religious Education Committee shapes the course of study for our children to help them on their spiritual path.
- Religious education for adults is offered through a variety of reading and discussion groups led by the minister, often on a theme. Monthly and yearly themes help guide the work of all committees. A recent annual worship theme was based on part of our new mission ("A Strong Community, rooted in Love"), which inspired not only a Bible class on the Parables, but a reading group discussing Brene Brown's work on fear and vulnerability.
- We join our youth in their educational visits to neighboring communities of faith, such as The Islamic Center of New England, and the Braj Mandir Hindu temple.
- Special worship services or summer services may include meditation sessions, special guest speakers, or lay-led services.
- We support members, staff, and youth who plan to attend spiritual retreats, such as at UU centers Star Island and Ferry Beach.
