First Parish Welcomes New Director of Religious Education
Posted on August 14th, 2012
We are excited that we have a new Director of Religious Education! Donna Shecrallah-Mack lives in Scituate, and is a long-time volunteer director. Many of you may know her through the Scituate Schools, or her role at South Shore Hospital and community events. She is excited to come to us from the Cohasset UU, where her husband George sang in the choir and was a member of the Parish Committee.
Her two daughters, Katie and Diana, went through the UU Coming of Age and OWL programs, sang with adult choirs, and were at different times part of three UU Youth Groups, including ours. Donna has taught 4th, 5th and 6th grade UU Sunday School, and believes that young people are naturally spiritual, asking big questions with an open mind about all possible answers, and that a dynamic Youth Group lends a joyful richness to the church.
Donna’s first day will be Sunday, September 9th at our in-gathering service. Please mark your calendars and come to say hello! Donna will spend a few days meeting people and learning her way around the church as we begin our RE year Sunday, September 23rd.
